We are a committed group of scholars, working to understand the philosophy, history, and ethics of biology and technology.
The lab consists of many quite different researchers, working in the domains of philosophy, history, and other disciplines drawn from the humanities and natural sciences. And we’re always looking for more members and collaborators!
Our group creates a wide variety of research products, including academic books and papers, and materials for public audiences. We also give talks to groups of specialists and the public, worldwide, and produce widely used open-source software.
The lab has open projects in several broad areas of research, including the philosophical foundations of natural selection, the history of biology, and the digital humanities.
